Marissa Isang quite literally stumbled upon a career in television journalism. Following the sound of an orchestra practicing at Rock Valley College led her to a wrong turn down a hallway into a television studio and she has never left.
Her career has been predominantly in Midwest television markets with roles in Rockford, Milwaukee and Chicago. Isang has held positions ranging from Director/ Master Control Operator to Line Producer, Segment Producer and Special Projects Producer.
Isang has a background brand creation and management, as well as high-impact and streaming content. So far she has received two Emmy Nominations for her work.
Currently she is stepping out of traditional journalism and taking on a new role as Sr. Producer of Digital Content for Amazon.
She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, National Association of Black Journalists, National Association of Black Journalists –Chicago and National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Chicago/Midwest Chapter.
Personally, she is a wife and mother of two beautiful sons.
